When you are doing your kitchen cleaning, one of the most important items will be your oven. Having a dirty oven can be bad for your health and can even cause the flavor of your food to taste foul. Any leftover food or grease inside your oven will burn whenever the oven is turned on. This will produce smoke inside your oven. The smoke which is being released is bad for you because it contains harmful gases like Sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxide and carbon monoxide. These gases are definitely something you do not want to breathe in. Those Carbon-based fumes can even give a bad flavor to the food you are cooking as well!
All in all, these issues can be avoided by simply having your oven cleaned by professionals here at Logros Cleaning, or by using our step-by-step guide to do it yourself!
How to clean your oven
- Supply List- First things first, before you start any project you need to make sure you have all the necessary tools to get it done. For this particular job you will need……
-
- Safety Glasses
- Rubber Gloves
- Mask
- Apron
- Oven Cleaner-The brand we use is Easy OFF-Oven Cleaner. We are not sponsored; it is just simply what works best.
- Dawn Dish Soap
- Sponge-Must have a rough side to it
- 2 Microfiber towels
- Prep The Oven- Once you have all of your Protective equipment on (Glasses, Gloves, and Apron), spray the ovens interior with the Easy Off oven cleaner. Make sure the whole surface is covered, including the oven racks,
- WAIT– This is the most important step. You have to wait at least 1-2 hours before proceeding to the next step. If you can let it sit overnight, then do so. The longer, the better! Many people make the mistake of going right into it, which is why they later complain on why it is so hard to get their oven cleaned. Remember- Let the product do its job, it will be less work on you.
- Scrub– Once the waiting period is over, you will get some hot water to soak our sponge. Then apply some Dawn dish soap to the sponge as well. With your sponge you are going to utilize the rough side to scrub the entire oven interior. This will ensure everything gets properly broken up and freed from all surfaces of the oven.
- WIpe- Now we will grab one of our microfiber clothes and wet it with hot water. We will then use that clothe to wipe the entire oven interior out. You want to use this rag to remove any grease and grime that was knocked free from the oven solution and the scrubbing process. Just keep a small waste basket near you that you can drop it all in.
- Dry- This last step is the most satisfying. Take the last microfiber clothe and use it to dry up any of the soap water residue that is remaining on the oven’s interior. This will leave a nice, and shiny new oven interior that you had no idea even existed!
Conclusion
So, we know that it is highly important that you keep a properly maintained and cleaned oven interior. If not, you can face potential risk like unhealthy fumes, a fire starting, or even the altering of the taste of food. Simply put, a clean oven= Healthier environment and better tasting food!
